Venezuela: Country of Lost Children
After deteriorating into chaos due to corruption and mismanagement, Venezuela is facing a real threat to its future, as its health and education systems collapse and its children remain defenseless. The film follows two single mothers, Carolina and Chiara who struggle to survive in Santa Rosa De Agua, a neighborhood in Maracaibo, where hunger and violence reign. Carolina operates a daycare center that serves as a shelter of hope. Forced to turn to crime in order to support her family, Chiara escapes to Columbia for fear of her gangster son’s life. The film paints a harsh picture of a society fighting for its future and fearing to lose an entire generation.
