Ellbogen

Hazal is trapped in an endless cycle of rejections. She gets no job interview, and finds herself trapped in a no-future training program. On her 18th birthday, she senses an unexpected surge of inner strength – like in the past, when she and her friends believed the world was at their feet. But the bouncer at the Berlin nightclub refuses to let them in. On their way back, they are verbally attacked, and Hazal’s frustration erupts. She escapes to Istanbul, where she must survive on her own – at any cost. Ellbogen (“elbow”) is a powerful story about a girl pushed to the edge. It carries us away into her night, not only to find out what happens to her, but also to ask questions about ourselves.
