Beethoven's Nine: Ode to Humanity
Israeli Premiere!
The film traces the eternal heritage of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, still considered one of the greatest musical pieces of all times. Composed two centuries ago, its message of love, freedom, hope and peace is more relevant than ever. The film follows nine exceptional figures, including Ukrainian musicians, a deaf sailor, a polish rockstar, a best-selling author, a legendary cartoonist and the director itself, who share a deep attachment to the symphony and its values. Academy Award candidate director Larry Weinstein challenges the viewers to understand the artist’s role of art in times of violent conflict, particularly in light of the recent global disasters and the October 7 attack on Israel.
