She Rises Up

Israeli Premiere!

The fascinating voyage of three women who struggle to transform their communities through the local businesses they found and run. Gladis Yupanqui of Peru started a minimarket which she now wants to expand. Senegalese Magatte Wade starts a cosmetics company. And Selyna Peiris of Sri Lanka is expanding her mother’s textile company. In many countries, labor laws restrict human rights and deny access to bank accounts, inheritances, and certain job categories, expanding poverty and makes it more difficult for them to overcome it. The stories of these three women are different, but together they illustrate the power of feminine entrepreneurship and the importance of local businesses for emerging economies as they create new opportunities, promote financial independence and reduce poverty.
