South-African youngsters from all walks of life start their adult lives at the prestigious Stellenbosch University. In the student dorms, they encounter colonial residues that are still present, still influential. Between cultural differences and a past that refuses to pass, they try to find their place and cope with a complex heritage that shapes their academic experience. The film tells the story of their coping with the heritage of apartheid and their struggle to blaze new trails.
